Members of the European Parliament, Mr Antonius Manders, from the European Peoples’ Party and Ms Daniela Rondinelli, from the Socialist & Democrats, led the European Parliament delegation during its official visit to the European Labour Authority on the 20th and 21th of February 2023 at ELA’s premises in Bratislava, Slovakia. The aim of the visit was to get a better idea on ELA’s operational activities and exchange views on ELA's priorities for 2023.

Ex-ante publicity for middle-value contract ELA/2022/MVP/0017 - Negotiated procedure to conclude a middle-value contract: Report on Labour Shortages and Surpluses 2023 (EURES)

In 2021, the management of the European Coordination Office (ECO) of the European network of employment services (EURES) has been transferred from the European Commission to the European Labour Authority. Amongst others, and in line with Article 30 of the EURES Regulation (EU) 2016/589, since then ELA is responsible to publish data on labour shortages and surpluses (updated version 16/01/2023)

The European Labour Authority (ELA) supported a joint action coordinated by Eurojust and Europol and led by Belgian and Portuguese authorities. The aim of the operation was to end the illicit activities related to social security fraud. Experts from ELA and Europol were deployed to Portugal. Five suspects were detained by law enforcement authorities. So far 5 properties in Portugal have been seized and 32 bank accounts frozen.
