Analytical and technical support to cross-border inspections, including consultancy services (ELA/2022/OP/0002)
The European Labour Authority coordinated and supported joint inspections between the Netherlands and Bulgaria in the period between 28 March - 5 April. Road and labour inspectors of both countries inspected two companies established in Bulgaria and in the Netherlands. The purpose of the joint inspections was to tackle serious violations of labour and social rights of workers in the road transport sector.
The main actions in 2022 will be transparent information to drivers and operators, support of concerted and joint inspections, capacity building and enhanced cooperation between the national authorities. The framework for action is an important milestone in addressing the challenges in implementation and enforcement of the EU legislation in road transport area.
The last meeting of 2022 held in Bratislava under the IMI PROVE Programme gathered experts from 26 Member States. Further activities foreseen in 2023.
