ELA has launched the fifth edition of the call for good practices 2026. This year's edition focuses on initiatives that:
  • help young people better understand labour-market trends, in-demand skills and the practical aspects of working abroad;
  • strengthen accessible and cross-border information provision in the long-term care sector;
  • improve application processes and administrative handling of PD A1 applications;
  • address undeclared work.

Deadline for submission: 18 May 2026

Focus areas

The call for good practices 2026 targets initiatives in the following areas:

  • youth and students: apprenticeships and first jobs in the EU and EEA
  • long-term care: strengthening accessible and cross-border information provision
  • PD A1 forms and processes: user-friendly, accessible, efficient and interoperable solutions
  • undeclared work.

Objective

The initiative fosters the exchange, dissemination and uptake of effective approaches and knowledge among Member States. It aims to contribute to the effective application and enforcement of EU labour mobility legislation and social security coordination across the EU.

Who can apply

The call is open to:

  • Member State administrations;
  • other stakeholders operating at national, regional or local level, including social security institutions, civil society organisations and social partners;
  • EU Member States, EEA and other countries participating in the EURES network.

Selection and visibility

All selected good practices will be included in ELA’s good practice database and receive a certificate. Selected exemplary practices will be presented and recognised at a high-level ELA event.

How to apply

Good practices must be submitted using the ELA resources platform by 18 May 2026 (see the full call for guidance). Applicants are encouraged to submit good practices on additional topics related to EU labour mobility and may submit more than one application.
