ELA and European Commission - DG GROW together to build the capacity of SOLVIT centres

More than 50 representatives of SOLVIT centres from all EU Member States took part in a training on EU Labour Mobility rules held at ELA’s Headquarters on 8-9 March.

The training programme aimed to:

  • improve the cross-sectoral understanding of EU labour mobility rules,
  • support the correct application and enforcement of fair labour mobility rules in the single market
  • build the capacity of SOLVIT Centres.

The participants got the opportunity to discuss cases and share their insights with the primary focus on practical aspects of the rules’ application.  Discussions were supported by the interventions of several EU labour mobility experts and representatives of the European Commission

The training was organised by ELA in cooperation with the Directorate-General for Internal Market, Industry, Entrepreneurship and SMEs (DG GROW) and the SOLVIT network

ELA’s cooperation with the SOLVIT network

SOLVIT is a problem-solving network for the EU single market run by Member States within their own national administrations and supported by the European Commission.

Since November 2021, ELA and SOLVIT have in place a Cooperation Agreement to allow the SOLVIT network to refer to the Authority cases in which a problem cannot be solved due to differences between national administrations.

Both ELA and SOLVIT centres use a collaborative and transnational approach. The training was a further step in building their professional relationships and working together to apply single market rules on labour mobility correctly and enable them to detect and tackle systemic problems.
