Cooperation event ELA/NLOs and RO labour and social attachés

The seminar was opened jointly by the Executive Director of ELA, Mr. Cosmin Boiangiu and Mr. Marius-Constantin Budăi, the Romanian Minister of Labour and Social Solidarity, with a focus on recent activities of special interest to Romanian stakeholders: ELA’s campaign on road transport; the Road Show in Romania; Translation Facility and national events organised in the upcoming months in Romania. It was also discussed on how to enhance cooperation between ELA and the Romanian Social and Labour Attachés including ways to help mobile Romanian citizens liaise with the local authorities and to address issues related to labour mobility. Further discussions related to how Romanian labour and social attaches have access to a variety of stakeholders, such as diaspora organizations, that can play a major role in disseminating ELA campaign materials. The meeting also provided ELA with first-hand information concerning practical situations and cases that are experienced by Romanian workers abroad. In total 22 participants took part including the Romanian ambassador to Slovakia, His Excellency Călin Fabian, 9 Romanian labour and social attaches and 2 labour and social solidarity ministry officials, National Liaison Officers and other representatives from ELA also were in attendance.
