A multinational team of 86 enforcement officers conducted inspections of 192 vehicles in 6-12 November 2023 in three Member States. The "Truck and Bus Operation" was coordinated by the European Labour Authority (ELA) and the European Roads Policing Network (ROADPOL) and uncovered infringements against road transport regulations resulting in total fines exceeding EUR 50,000. In particular resting time violations were discovered. In one extreme case, a truck driver was found to have three driver cards, indicating regular more than 17-hour driving periods without breaks.

The European Labour Authority (ELA) organised a week-long Training for labour and social inspectors on 4-8 December 2023. More than 60 inspectors participated in the training, which ended with a roadside mock-inspection in Bratislava, Slovakia. The objective of the training was to enhance the inspectors’ knowledge and skills on cross-border inspections.
