Powered by EURES, the EU Talent Pool Pilot Initiative supports Ukrainian jobseekers to find a job in the EU

The EU Talent Pool Pilot Initiative is an online job-searching tool in the EURES portal for people fleeing the war in Ukraine, looking for work in the EU and benefiting from temporary protection. Through the Talent Pool Pilot, they can  access over 3 million job vacancies and 4,000 potential employers.

Accessible through the EURES portal, the EU Talent Pool Pilot Initiative offers the chance for Ukrainian candidates to register as a jobseeker and publish their CV in the EURES database. This will allow them to browse vacancies and get advice in the countries joining the initiative.

Under the Pilot, several EURES services are available to the Ukrainian jobseekers fleeing the war: a landing page with all the updated and downloadable information materials about the Pool Pilot, translated in Ukrainian, Russian and English; the EURES Helpdesk service available in English, French, German, Italian and Spanish, the possibility of publishing a CV, check the available openings throughout Europe and benefit from advice provided by the EURES network or national employment services in the countries that are joining the initiative.

To kick start the Initiative, on 10 October 2022, a launch event is taking place, where Commissioner Schmit (DG EMPL), Commissioner Johansson (DG HOME), Ukrainian Authorities representatives and the Executive Director of ELA, Cosmin Boiangiu, will be presenting it to the public. The Talent Pool Pilot Initiative is a collaboration venture between two DGs of the European Commission – DG for Migration and Home Affairs (DG HOME) and DG for Employment, Social Affairs & Inclusion (DG EMPL) – and the European Labour Authority, tasked of coordinating the EURES network.

ELA’s Executive Director Cosmin Boiangiu said on this occasion:

“The EURES portal and network are a powerful instrument to match employers and jobseekers across Europe. There could not be a better European tool to deliver the Talent Pool Pilot in such short notice, and facilitate the labour integration of Ukrainians seeking temporary protection and shelter in the EU."
