Local information event, Roadshow for HGV drivers in Belgium

The European Labour Authority (ELA) in cooperation with the Sociale Inlichtingen-en Opsporingsdienst (SIOD) and together with the representatives from ETF, BTB-ABVV/UBT FGTB, ACV-CSC, ACLVB- CGSLB, FTTUB and FEBETRA, conduct a full day onsite local informational event for truck drivers involved in international road transport and cabotage in Belgium. Wetteren Noord gas station parking lot for freight transport at A10 highway was chosen as an event site. The main objective of the event is to inform international heavy goods vehicle (HGV) drivers about driving and rest times rules, as well as posting of drivers rules under Mobility Package I. Engaging into conversation with the experts from the unions provided drivers with an opportunity to acquire additional understanding about their rights and obligations in relation to Mobility Package I.
