ELA supported a targeted concerted joint inspection (CJI) in Vienna on 22 September 2026, organised by Austrian and Slovak authorities. Members of the European Parliament from the European Parliament's Committee on Employment and Social Affairs (EMPL Committee) joined the inspection as observers to see in practice how the Member States cooperate in the enforcement of labour mobility legislation with ELA support.
The Austrian Minister of Labour, Social Affairs, Health, Care and Consumer Protection, Ms Korinna Schumann, the Director General of the Labour Section of the same Austrian Ministry, Mr Martin Gruber-Risak, as well as the Director General of the Labour Section of the Slovak Ministry of Labour, Social Affairs and Family, Ms Katarina Lanakova. The Executive Director of ELA, Mr Cosmin Boiangiu, also participated in the inspection.
The objective of the inspection was to verify whether Slovak companies posting workers to Austria complied with rules on posting, wages, undeclared work, and social security. The inspection also provided an opportunity to further strengthen the established cooperation between the Austrian and Slovak authorities in tackling cross-border enforcement challenges.
