Free movement body (FMB)
Authority designated as free movement body - FMB (what are FMBs?):
Agency for Integration, Migration and Asylum
AIMA guarantees the coordination of the different entities with the scope of application of Directive 2014/54/UE and also ensures contact with the European Commission and with equivalent entities of other Member States to cooperate and share relevant information.

Provides information on EU free movement rights:
- Coordinates the different players around Directive 2004-38-CE execution
- Promotes independent inquiries
- Promotes analysis concerning unjustified restrictions or obstacles to the right to free movement, any discrimination based on the nationality of workers of the European Union and members of their families.
- Ensures the publication of independent reports
- Presents recommendations on matters relating to potential restrictions, obstacles, or discriminatory practices.
- Publishes relevant information regarding the application, in Portugal, of the European Union rules governing the free movement of persons
