Description

Annually, the European Labour Authority conducts this training in a different Member State, with previous editions held in Belgium, Malta, Croatia, Romania, and, in the current year, Hungary. Each year, participants (e.g., junior professionals, newly appointed officials) from across the European Union and European Economic Area convene to acquire foundational knowledge and understanding regarding EU labor mobility.

The fifth edition of the Training Programme: Basics of EU Labour Mobility is held in Budapest, between 2 and 4 June 2026.

Its main outcome is to provide a first introduction and general overview of the main topics, such as social rights and labour mobility in the EU, free movement of workers, social security coordination, posting of workers, and practical examples of transnational cooperation, etc.

The participants are composed of junior professionals and/or new officials and stakeholders working in the labour mobility sector, including representatives from the national authorities from all EU 27 and EEA countries. Four Free Movement Bodies also attend.
