Exploring the impact of AI on labour markets and mobility.
A multinational team of 86 enforcement officers conducted inspections of 192 vehicles in 6-12 November 2023 in three Member States. The "Truck and Bus Operation" was coordinated by the European Labour Authority (ELA) and the European Roads Policing Network (ROADPOL) and uncovered infringements against road transport regulations resulting in total fines exceeding EUR 50,000. In particular resting time violations were discovered. In one extreme case, a truck driver was found to have three driver cards, indicating regular more than 17-hour driving periods without breaks.
