## Description

The event included presentations on ELA, its goals, on-going work and activities addressing labour exploitation in cooperation with Member States, as well as presentations on trends in labour exploitation and good practices in tackling labour exploitation from Ireland and Spain.

The second part of the event included two panel discussions whereby the first panel aims to enhance awareness on labour exploitation through topics like modern slavery, ‘new forms of work’ and [forced labour](/en/glossary/forced-labour "All work or service which is exacted from any person whether or not under the menace of any penalty and for which the said person has not offered themselves voluntarily, according to the ILO’s Forced Labour Convention 29 1930: Ar.2 (1).&nbsp;This definition consists of three elements: work or…"). Thereafter, the second panel addressed topics like detecting precarious work and sectors at risk, fair recruitment, vulnerable workers and supply chains.

The event was organised by the European Labour Authority (ELA) in cooperation with the Maltese Department for Industrial and Employment Relations (DIER).
