**Trade unions** and **employers’ organisations** play an important role in ELA’s activities and can actively contribute to ELA’s mandate:

- they have a **dedicated advisory body** in the ELA administrative and management structure, the [**Stakeholder Group**](https://www.ela.europa.eu/en/governance/stakeholder-group);
- social partners are **non-voting members** of the [Management Board](/en/governance/management-board "Management Board");
- they are part of the European Platform to enhance cooperation in [**tackling undeclared work**](/en/topics/tackling-undeclared-work "Tackling undeclared work") and other [**working groups**](/en/about/what-we-do "What we do") of ELA;
- national social partners can [**bring cases to the attention of ELA**](https://www.ela.europa.eu/sites/default/files/2022-09/Workflow%20guidance%20for%20social%20partners.pdf);
- they can cooperate with ELA on the [**assessment of risks and analyses**](/en/activities/analysis-and-risk-assessment "Analysis and risk assessment") regarding labour mobility and social security coordination across the Union;
- social partners can be asked to contribute to developing common non-binding **guidelines.**

The European Labour Authority (ELA) has taken a step forward in enhancing cooperation across the EU by hosting a landmark session of its IMI-PROVE Programme. For the first time, National IMI Coordinators (NIMICs), IMI users and social security institutions came together to explore better use of the Internal Market Information (IMI) system for posting of workers and social legislation in road transport.
